Skype Finally Comes to the iPhone After a Long Wait

Make Free Calls on iPhone with Skype Client

Skype, the much loved and hugely popular VoiP service for making free calls online, has finally come to the iPhone. Just to set the record straight, the Skype service could be accessed earlier using third party iPhone applications, but this application is the official release from Skype itself.

While there were some speculations on the long delay in introducing such an app, like AT&T fearing fall in its revenue, these are unfounded, as calls can only be placed via Wi-Fi and not otherwise. Hence AT&T has nothing to fear from this launch.

Skype has also included an IM chat feature in its iPhone avatar, just like the one available in its PC version. This is bound to get roaring approval from the legions of Skype and iPhone fans throughout the world. Skype is available for free download from the iPhone Store.
