The Surprise For The Old Carpenter

There was an elderly carpenter who wanted to wrap up his work and retire for good. He told his employer of his plans to retire and spend the rest of his life with his wife and kids. He would badly miss his weekly payments but he had decided that this was the end of his working days. The contractor was not happy with his decision, as he was a class worker. As a personal help, he begged the carpenter to build one last house for him. Although the carpenter agreed to this, his mind had already retired and he was in a hurry to complete the work. His sloppy working skills and the low quality material used in the construction resulted in a poorly built house. But there was a surprise in store for the old carpenter! When he completed the house and showed it to the employer. The employer handed him the keys to the house and said, ?This is my gift to you. It is your new house.? The carpenter was perplexed. He thought, ? If I had known from the start that this was to be my abode, then I would have built it with great care and love.? It is the same with our everyday lives. We tend to put fewer efforts in our work; the insincere approach reflects our attitude in real life. Life challenges us to do our own thing, so take care; whatever decisions you make today will be vital for the future. After all it?s your life that matters the most!
