Weight Problem (Obesity)
The general perception is that if a man has more than 25 percent body weight and a woman has more than 33 percent body weight, then they are obese. The total body fat divided by the total body weight multiplied by 100 is the body fat percentage of a person.
Trying to determine the amount of body fat you have can be very difficult and extremely expensive too. To find out if a person is obese or not, the person needs to be evaluated based on the risk factors like medical conditions that can influence complications risk.
However, one sure fact that we all know about the origin of obesity is that obesity occurs when one or more of our body’s 3 glands becomes dysfunctional. The three main glands of our body are the thyroid gland, the adrenal gland and the hypophysis gland. Unfortunately the general perception is that obesity occurs due to laziness or lack of exercise.
This is a false idea.
Cause of Obesity
Obesity is actually a disorder and unfortunately affects more than 1/3rd of the world’s population, if recent statistics are to be believed. Of course, weight gain can be controlled by eating the right kinds of food at the right times and in the right quantities, by performing regular exercise and workouts etc, but there are some cases where none of the above would help in any way. Such people look for salvation in weight loss pills and other diet pills that promise extraordinary results.
The market for these weight loss pills and diet pills or other weight loss products that promise easy, quick, cheap, reliable and painless weight loss is huge. These weight loss products generally come in the form of books, crèmes, pills, body wraps, CD’s, lotions, earrings and rings, body belts etc. Also fitness centers, weight loss groups, personal coaches and food supplements and products come come under this industry. Obesity as a disorder of the body can have multiple causes of varying natures and the treatment for the same should be provided as per the diagnostic. Hence, you cannot brand a certain method of weight loss as a scam or a false one if it does not work for you. It could work like a charm for another person.
It could work in miraculous ways for other people because each one has a different combination of causes that bring about obesity. Of course, there are tons of products that have scam written all over them, but just like any other industry, these scams do not last long in the market. However, the best way to control obesity, in a general sense, is to take care of the body by considering what we should eat, when we should eat, how we should eat and how much we should eat. Also, we absolutely cannot forget physical exercise. If you hear that by performing fitness, bodybuilding, swimming, aerobic and jogging will help you lose weight, believe it! Almost any kind of exercise is okay for ensuring the health of your body.
